cards are still for sale my friends…

i just wanted to take a quick minute to tell a story behind one of the images here. this is a photo of… what? yes, a power box or whatever you call them. my aunt thinks i have a slight obsession with these… maybe i do. i took this photo when i was making an artist book of images for an interview i had last year. the criteria was to create something three dimensional that evokes the theme of taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary. this is a constant thread in my work as i really do try to find the common, quiet moments and see them in a new light. so yes, this is a power box, but it is also a reminder that there is beauty in even the most simple finds. hope you see that in your life today.

becca is my kind of/sort of cousin (cousin’s cousin)– and a good friend. she and kyle got married this past weekend in austin and it was BEAUTIFUL. it was so special to get to be a part of their wedding through arranging flowers and making place cards for her bridal luncheon and designing and making the invitations and program fans for the wedding. i’ve been waiting to show her simple and elegant design that we came up with to reflect her sweet spirit.
